Yoruba crowns like this are still in use at Benin, made with assorted beads and colored regalia depicting the characters of the owners. Beads such as red carnelian, agates, jasper, balearic coral. Since the right to wear beaded crown is the gift of the Ooni of Ife, the exalted of Yoruba rulers, therefore. The invention of new styles were adopted, probably from the Adeshina family of Econ-Alaye. Who now purvey crowns to most of the crowned heads of Yoruba land.
