Frequently Asked Questions

When are you open to the public?

We are generally open 10 AM to 5 PM Monday to Friday for buyers picking up purchases, and for receiving consignments. For buyers wishing to preview, we typically have items available to preview for the week prior to the sale.

Buyer’s Premium:
When a bidder wins an auction lot, a buyer’s premium is added to the “hammer price” (winning bid). Twenty percent of the winning bid is added to the invoice for cash or check payments, and 23% for credit card payments.

Popular third-party bidding platforms we partner with to make our auctions more easily accessible charge an additional 5% on those buyer’s premiums. If you bid through our platform on our website, you will not be charged the additional 5%; thus we recommend using our website when bidding on our auctions.

How do I know if I won an auction lot?
Invoices are sent to winning bidders via email with the items they won within about 24 hours of the end of the sale.

How do I pay for the items I won?

When you receive your emailed invoice, there is a link you can use to pay online with a credit card. If you prefer to pay over the phone, you can call us during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 10am to 5pm) to make your payment. You can also pay by check or cash in person, or mail a check.

We follow up on unpaid invoices starting about a week after the sale.

How do I receive the items I won?
In-house shipping: We offer in-house shipping on many items. For lots that are over approximately 30 lbs or exceed our typical box dimensions (Example: chairs, tables, over-sized works of art, etc.) we partner with a third-party shipping company. If you prefer to have your items shipped to you by a shipper of your choice, please contact us within the first week after a sale.

In-person pick up: For those who are able to visit us in person at 147 Main St. in Freeport, Maine, pick-ups are an option. You will receive an email after the auction to schedule a pickup time.

Can you hold my items for pickup?

Due to our limited storage capacity, and so that we can prepare for our next sale, we ask that buyers wishing to pickup their items do so within 14 days of the auction. Any items not picked up in this time frame must be moved to our storage containers, and will incur a storage fee of $10 per day.
