Height 20.5 inches, length 14.5 inches, depth 5.5 inches. Many different objects are placed on the royal ancestral altars in the palace of the Oba ( king) of Benin. The rider has been identified as Oranmiyan, a young Yoruba prince from Ife who founded the present dynasty and who, it is believed to have introduced horses to Benin.
