The Igbo people had distincted three major forms of ikenga figures used in directing the owner psychologically in connecting with his chi life force. Object without a face signifying an individual under the age of twenty, still a child needed guidance and direction; while the figure with face signifying an adult twenty or above, the face signaling recognition as an adult who must be focused on his life journey and responsibilities in life.
