Lot 768:
Diameter 8.75 inches. A handwritten note reads: " This plate which belonged to Govenor (sic) Stuyvesant (1592-1672) being cracked was given to me by my mother in 1883." Stuyvesant served as the last Dutch director-general of the colony of New Netherland, which would later become New York and New Jersey. Old staple repair to plate.
