American Coin Silver Cake Saw, Albert Coles, New York, New York, 1850-60; Housed in the Original Case. Engraved in the Rococo style on one side of the blade with flowers, acanthus and scrolls enclosing trellis diaperwork, the handle ending in a beaded trefid terminal and molded with a cartouche on each side, one engraved with the initial C in foliate script, marked with an eagle, HC into a lozenge and profile portrait. 3.75 oz. Length 11 3/8 inches.
