CHARLES B.J.F. DE SAINT-MEMIN (FRENCH 1770-1852) PROFILE ENGRAVINGS OF JOSEPH ERWIN OF PHILADELPHIA, 1798 (2 items). 1) Copperplate engraving on paper, 2 5/8 inch-square platemark, inscribed below profile: "Drawn & engrd. by St. Memin Philadela."; matted within carved and gilded frame bearing lable for Kennedy Galleries on the reverse. Born in Ireland, Erwin (1758-1807) was a successful Philadelphia merchant, who lived as a country gentleman in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, following his retirement in 1791.
