Illustrated with a frontispiece and forty hand-colored aquatints by R. and D. Havell after George Walker. First edition; large folio. In modern green morocco, with raised bands and gilt edging and lettering on the spine. Several of the plates from this work have become iconic depictions of the working classes, notably those relating to the production of textiles, at the start of the industrial age.
