The first made of boxwood with brass angle reinforcement, in the shape of an L, the longest arm being 21 inches and the smaller being 12. Marked “ TAILOR & CUTTERS SQUARE” and produced for “The Tailor & Cutter”, a highly respected trade journal published in the late 19th and early 20th century in London. The folding shoe measure, also of boxwood with brass hinges, by E. Preston & Sons.
