A livery bicorne hat, probably for a coachman, with large silver button on cockade loop bearing the arms and motto of the Marquess of Camden, bound with broad silver lace and cord, with roan hatband and silk lining inside, the latter stamped with maker’s name: Wilkinson & Son/Matthew Street/ London. Probably commissioned in the late 19th century for the 3rd Marchioness or 4th Marquess of Camden. Size 7 1/8. Thanks to Christopher Bryant for his help in identifying the crest. Excellent condition.
