Deep blue superfine shell with scarlet collar and cuffs, all edged with regimental gold lace of ½ inch-width. The left breast is edged with gilt, round studs in imitation of buttons, but actually closed with gilded brass hooks and eyes set on the interior edges. There is a red morocco leather support around the inside waist (still supple) and the jacket is lined with brown silk, heavily pad-stitched. There is a functional slit pocket on the interior of the left breast. There are some signs of light wear and there is an L-shaped tear (appx. 2 x 1”) on the right sleeve above the pointed cuff that could easily be mended, otherwise the jacket is in good condition for its age.
