(New York/District of Columbia/Germany, 1855-1948), signed Jos. Lauber near bottom of vase, faience glaze decorated on one side with two artistic putti, one holding a palette, floating among clouds, the other side depicting another putto, representing light, standing atop a demon representing darkness Height 10 inches, c. 1890. Joseph Lauber was a muralist and stained glass designer who worked for the Tiffany Glass and Decorating Company, he exhibited at the 1893 Worlds Columbian Exposition.
