Published as “The Costumes of the British Navy, as ordered by His Royal Highness, the Lord High Admiral”, this was the the first attempt to semi-officially depict the uniforms prescribed for all commissioned and warrant officers in the Royal Navy. Handsomely produced in color lithograph by M. Gauci after original drawings by Edward Hull, the series was published in London by Engelmann, Graf, Coindet & Co. during 1828-1830. Rare. [Harrington 1319; Ogilby 466]. 10 matted and framed lithographs, the sheets 34x24mm (not laid down). Backing boards of compo frames bear Parker Gallery labels. Some light toning, notably near edges of mats.
