MADISON’S METHOD AND COMPLETE GRADING SYSTEM COMBINED BY J. O. MADISON. NY: Jno. J. Mitchell Co., 1887. Embossed clothbound with gilt lettering, large quarto (11 7/8 x 9 1/8 in.) 132 pp. with intro. and index, 19 full page plates and numerous diagrams. TRAUTMAN no. M3 (2 copies located), not in SELIGMAN or in National Union Catalog. Extremely rare 1887 work by master tailor Madison, combining his earlier shoulder-breast measure pattern drafting system for overcoats, dress coats, frocks, sacks, vests, and trousers and supplementing it with his grading system for sizes and builds. Spine missing and hinges loose; title page separated, otherwise internal contents very good.
